Event: “Night Club at Noon” is a community outreach initiative that addresses the ever-increasing trends toward the reduction in arts funding, and elimination of music programs in school systems and institutions throughout our communities.
Because of these trends, many inner-city youths are very seldom or never given serious instruction, or performance opportunities in music, the arts, or theater. For them, the inclusion of music in their education has been relegated to a distant wish, rather than an exciting reality.
We believe that arts and music education are very important to the development of today’s youth in helping to overcome cultural differences to obtain greater appreciation for dedication and practice to achieve excellence in music, as well as life.
“Night Club at Noon” features a specially prepared three-course lunch, an awards ceremony, and a mini jazz concert. It runs from 12-noon until 2:00 p.m. at Warmdaddy’s, located at Columbus Boulevard @ Reed Street, in South Philadelphia.
