BUKO KEVIN JONES & Tenth World/Live: Even if you’ve worked with everyone from Whitney Houston to Randy Weston with stops along the way at the Isleys and others, it doesn’t mean you can’t be a hippie drummer at heart and go off on that ancient/future mode that rides the semi-spiritual tip while encouraging finding the inner funk. Hard to categorize set that mixes funk, space, exploration, fusion and all that stuff for progressive listeners who know who they are. A solid dose of next wave jazz.
