Jeff Oster-Peter Welker Jazz Alliance, "Shining Hour"

Fay Victor Ensemble, "The Freesong Suite"

Ella Fitzgerald's "Twelve Nights in Hollywood" was also voted one of the best boxed sets of 2009, along with instrumental collections by the Akiyoshi/Tabakin Big Band, Django Reinhardt, Ken Vandermark, and Danny Zeitlin.

Voting was by critics David R. Adler, Laurence Donohue-Greene, and Andrey Henkin.
