MON: The devastation of New Orleans by Hurricane Katrina is relived by Marva Wright, a blues singer from New Orleans. The tragedy of New Orleans has also served to further radicalize musicians like the World Saxophone Quartet, who weigh in with Political Blues.
TUES: Can you get to the Riff, a musical question is posed by Robert Glasper, Marc Cary, Jazz Addixx and Soweto Kinch
WED: As jazz becomes more multi-cultural, and more of a world music, several Israeli players have been highly acclaimed, especially bassist/composer Avishai Cohen, whose Live At The Blue Note is featured on this night.
