Don't come 'round these parts looking for any smoothly mixed DJ-compilation... no sir indeed! DJ Jackie Christie has opted to go a different route, one many DJs are finding quite lucrative, by releasing an album not as a DJ, but as a producer. Since most DJs eventually take on the producer title, this just seems like the next step in the ever evolving club scene.
DJ Jackie Christie's style is a blend of uplifting house grooves backed with full-blown diva vocals; both suitable for big rooms or more intimate lounges. The first single, "Beautiful Day" is a prime example of that. With the vocal talents of Discomind (aka Sheila Brody of Amuka fame) driving this track, it get things going at a great pace. Many other big voices are found scattered throughout, the legendary Sandy B and Lady Bunny just to name two. It's Lady Bunny's track, "It's Tonight" that is one of my personal favorites. Not nearly as anthemic as Sandy's but fierce nonetheless. Other standouts include "Made 4 U" ft. Dirty Shane and "Motema" ft. Jana Herzen. There is of course the inevitable "filler tracks" that seem to be there just to rack up time but most of it is great stuff.
