Made 4 U by Jackie Christie, DJ préferée of the fashionista set (including the likes of designers Donatella Versace and Michael Bouwer), is a deliciously upbeat 31 flavors of dance music. Her first single, “Beautiful Day,” featuring Discomind, sets up the feel-good vibe with lyrics like, “There are people in your life that can lift you up so high / and even when you’re wrong, they’re still standing by your side. / It’s a beautiful day with you in my life!” Track after track, DJ Jackie Christie maintains the sunny quality of the songs even when shifting from vocal house to more trance or progressive house sounds. “Don’t Go Away” featuring Shane X. Conroy is a knockout track in which Christie starts by building to a crescendo with her flawless layering of beats, sound effects, and vocals. She then strips the song down to a single drum beat and starts all over again to goosebump-causing effect. For those unfamiliar with Christie, Made 4 U is the perfect substitute for those of us who can’t hear her spin her amazing sets live.
