2008-03-27 O's Place Newsleter - Review The secret to her wonderful sound is her integration with her band, placing her voice amidst the rhythmic action and expressing the theme of the words at the same time.
Amy London “When I Look Into Your Eyes” 2007 Ballads, Motéma, 4/4 Amy sings a dozen arrangements of classy jazzy tunes. The secret to her wonderful sound is her integration with her band, placing her voice amidst the rhythmic action and expressing the theme of the words at the same time. The band is equally strong including John Hicks (p), Rufus Reid (b), Roni Ben-Hur (g) and Richie Vitale (T). This is a rare lead recording effort from London. She stays busy on the New York music scene, teaching, composing and performing while raising her family. After hearing her on this CD we agree with Mark Murphy encouraging her to come back with another warm recording soon!
