ENJOYING A NIGHT CLUB AT NOON Jazz Journeys Educational Institute & Warmdaddy’s Host Youth Event
PHILADELPHIA, April 6, 2009 - “The Jazz Journeys Educational Institute and Warmdaddy’s continue their Night Club at Noon Educational Workshop Luncheon series with a Jazz History/Appreciation Month program on Wednesday, April 29, 2009.
A mini jazz concert performed by the Jazz Journeys Quartet, followed by a jazz bass presentation featuring national recording artist, bassist; Charnett Moffett, will highlight the afternoon’s entertainment while young adults enjoy a night club atmosphere over a specially prepared Warmdaddy’s three-course lunch.
The youth attending the event will be a mixture of performing arts students, as well as, inner city youths from the tri-state area whose music and arts programs have been cut from their curriculum.
This community outreach initiative addresses the ever-increasing trends toward the reduction in arts funding, and elimination of music programs in school systems and institutions.
“By offering a night club scene, we are not only giving the children something to look forward to, we are showing them how music education can enrich their lives,” said Earle Browne, Executive Director, Jazz Journey. “We believe that arts and music education is very important to the development of today’s children. As a result we consider it a privilege to help enrich the lives of young people about America’s only indigenous music.”
